Logical Fallacy

If you’ve ever had to review or debate ideas (for example when presenting a paper at a conference, or responding to a paper submission for a conference journal), you may have come across a logical fallacy or two (or even committed one). I find resources such as https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/poster a useful guide to avoiding these, or spotting them, assuming that your data and analysis isn’t so cast-iron that debate isn’t even an issue… 🙂

BTW by far the most common one I’ve noticed is “Appeal to Authority”, often also misrepresenting said authority’s claims (or lack of).
